How to get rid of mold in a bread box

To get rid of mold in a bread box, clean the bread box with vinegar water solution to kill mold spores. Wipe the breadbox with vinegar and remove the residue with a dry cloth. Then leave to dry. If possible, dry the breadbox in direct sunlight. Vinegar and direct sunlight destroy spores of mold in a bread box.

Coffee grounds scrub away the motor oil from hands

To wash the motor oil off from your hands thoroughly, apply some liquid soap, using very little water. Add a pinch of sawdust or sand and rub. Then rinse with warm water.

Wash your hands as usual and add a tablespoon of coffee grounds. Rub your hands with coffee grounds together, then rinse. Coffee grounds scrub away the motor oil from hands and take away bad odors.

Natural Cleaners: Lavender antibacterial spray

If you wish to disinfect sinks and faucets, toilets, garbage pails in your house, make a universal non-toxic cleaner on natural basis.

Lavender Antibacterial Spray

You need:

1 cup water
10 ml of alcohol or vodka
1 teaspoon lavender essential oil

 

Pour the water into a spray bottle. Add one teaspoon of lavender essential oil and 10 ml of alcohol or vodka and shake to blend. Spray on the surface and wait for at least 15 minutes. Then wipe out the surface with a micro fiber cloth.
With lavender antibacterial spray you can deodorize a room or the garbage pail. It is very effective for killing most mold and bacteria.

How to remove grease and meat leftovers in the grinder

Before grinding run a small amount of fat from the meat or some vegetable oil through the grinder to lubricate the grinding mechanism. To remove grease and meat leftovers in the grinder after use, run a few slices of bread through it. The bread cleans grease and meat stuck in the grinder. Then wash  each part in warm soapy water as usual. After rinsing and hand drying, rub the cutting plate and knives with vegetable oil to prevent them from rusting.

Keep a glass of water inside the microwave

Do not operate microwave when it is empty. Some microwaves can be damaged when they run empty. If there is no Child Safety Lock, which helps adults and children avoid accidentally turning on the microwave, while it is empty, always keep a glass of water inside the microwave. The water will get hot and absorb the unused microwaves. This will save the appliance.

How to get rid of fruit flies

Fruit flies love moisture, are especially attracted to ripened and rotting fruits and food leftovers.

  • Make a trap. Sugar water helps to get rid of fruit flies. Take a bowl with hot water, pour some sugar in it, then put two tablespoons of white vinegar or apple vinegar and mix everything. Vinegar’s fragrance attracts fruit flies. The fruit flies fly in and drown.
  • Bag up all rotting fruits and vegetables and take the bag outside to the trash.
  • Always cover sweet fruit bowl or store fruit in the plastic fruit bowl with a net.
  • Don’t leave crumbs around the table.
  • Remove any leftover and clean your dishes after each meal.
  • Don’t over water plants. Remove dead leaves and other decaying stuff from the top of the soil.
